Launch of the Wobélé festival: youth at the heart of the third edition from August 12 to 20, 2023

The third edition of Wobélé festival will be held from August 12 to 20, 2023 in Tafiré, around the theme “Youth and development”. This information was given on June 17, 2023 by Commissioner General Ouolo Coulibaly during the official launch ceremony of the said festival at the Palais de la culture in Treichville, in the presence of Ms. Maïmouna Koné, the wife of the Vice-President of the Republic, the mayor of Tafiré Coulibaly Soungalo.

“The Wobélé 2023 will see the animation of conferences on important themes for the appropriation of our sociological identity and the impact of youth on the development of our regions. The inaugural conference on the theme of youth will be said by the Minister Alain Lobognon, former Minister of Youth and Sports”, explained the general commissioner of the festival.

According to Mr. Coulibaly, Wobélé 2023 will help to enlighten people on two issues with a strong impact on the social fabric and particularly on young people.

Thus, two panels are planned: one on the theme of “Early pregnancy in rural areas” and the other on “The harm of drugs and alcohol on youth”.

For the general commissioner, the Wobélé festival is a journey between the mysteries of the culture of these peoples of Hambol and the sharing of their passion for sport in general, and motorcycling in particular. “It should allow the expression of traditional dances, the promotion of local food, clothing, agricultural and even cosmetic products,” said Ouolo Coulibaly.

Continuing, he indicated that the Wobele festival is also an opportunity to discover cultural diversity in Côte d’Ivoire. “For each edition, traditional groups or artists from other regions of Côte d’Ivoire are invited to participate in the festival”, he said, adding that this festival is designed to impact the educational aspects. , social, environmental, sporting and cultural sub-prefectures of Tafiré, Badikaha and Niédiékaha.

An initiative that was welcomed by Coulibaly Soungalo, Mayor of Tafiré. “Your massive presence at this launch ceremony speaks volumes about your interest in the activities of our regions. I therefore invite all the sons and daughters of Tafiré, Badikaha and Niédiékaha to come and take part in these events, which will be for each of us, opportunities to fraternize and meet other people”, he invited.
